What is commissioning
What is commissioning?
Commissioning is the process of verifying that all systems and components of a building or industrial plant are designed, installed, tested, operated and maintained as conceived or described in the program of requirements.
This assurance of the quality requirements of mission-critical assets for a building or plant is done through the design, documentation and scheduling of a commissioning plan. Having tests performed, data calibrated and verified, and recommendations recorded in a commissioning file are an essential part of this. This review is often lacking in technical due diligence.
The main objective of commissioning is to pursue and achieve a safe and orderly hand-over of the total plant and building, from the construction phase to the operations and maintenance phase, with the building or plants performing according to the design assumptions.
